Faux Bois: (false wood) refers to the artistic imitation of wood or wood grains in various media. During a remodel in lieu of removing the metal stringer on lower staircase, Molly painted it to match the new redwood upper staircase. The upper staircase is redwood and the base board on the wall is redwood, the stringer and kick plate is Molly's Faux Bois work.
